Benefit Benetint vs The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain

I love a good dupe. And whenever I came across this one, I had to try it out for myself. So today I’ll be talking about Benefit Benetint vs The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain in Dark Cherry

Both of these products claim to be the same thing; that they will give you a rosey red flush to your cheeks or lips with a staining power. Making them a natural looking, long wearing and the perfect every day product.  So let’s go into each product in a little more detail.

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain:

  • Retails for £8
  • Contains 7.2ml of product
  • Doe foot applicator
  • Gel-like consistency

Benefit Benetint:

  • Full size retails for £25.50 for 10ml
  • Mini size retails for £5 for 4ml
  • Brush applicator
  • Liquid consistency

The Staying power for both products is the exact same for me. I feel like they both lasted all day when I apply them to my cheeks. However, when applied to my lips, I found that both needed a touch up after the 3 hour mark. This is by no means a fault of the the product. They faded due to eating and talking. I found that The Body Shop blends easily but I have more control over how much product I use with the Benefit Benetint.

I also found that The Body Shop tends to be a bit messy. As it is a gel consistency, it is easy to accidentally get the product on your teeth and the surrounding areas of your lips. Again, as it is a gel it takes a lot longer to dry compared to the Benefit Benetint.

I’ve swatched both products below. The photo is to show you that there is a difference between the two.
