We’ve all heard it before, drinking water is good for numerous reasons. Yet so many of us don’t drink nearly enough of it. So if your like me and struggle with drinking 2-3 litres a day then these 5 tips with help you drink more water.
1. Add Some Flavour:
I hate the taste of plain water so I add diluted juice to my water. If you want to be a bit healthier then all you have to do is add in fresh or frozen fruit straight to your water to give it a different flavour. I love doing this at summer time, nothing better than a nice cold fruity glass of water on a hot day.
2. Set A Goal:
Goals are the best way to stay on track. I’ve recently started taking a 2 litre water bottle to work. And I’ve set myself the goal to finish it before 3pm. Prior to this, I had a water bottle that had different times marked out to make sure I had the portions by the time specified. Here is an example of the water bottle.
3.Keep it Close:
Keep a bottle of water on you at all times. That way there’s no excuse not to get your daily intake. I have water bottles everywhere. I have one at work, in my gym bag and also beside my bed. I definitely think this helps but make sure to keep track on how many you drink in a day because although water is good for you, it can be harmful if you drink too much.
4.Use A Straw:
Straws help you drink more water more quickly. Plus if you have a fun straw your more likely to use it.
5. Get Fruity & Eat Your Greens:
Many fruits and vegetables contain high water percentages. Consuming them everyday will add to your daily water intake. Fun fact, did you know that Watermelon and strawberries contain about 92 percent water. It’s not just fruit that contain lots of water. Cucumbers and lettuce are made up of 96 percent water. And Zucchini, radish and celery are contain of 95 percent water. Plus these foods are healthy and will keep you fuller for longer.
